*FULL-TIME FOREMAN and PROJECT MANAGER (NOW HIRING)

 

NCI is currently looking to fill positions for full-time FOREMAN and PROJECT MANAGER FOREMAN who will help to lead crews and deliver great landscaping work for the customers. The Foreman is primarily responsible and accountable for the quality completion of jobs and the crews of laborers at project sites, and sometimes multiple project sites, as noted on daily work orders. The Foreman may have specific focus as Maintenance Foreman, Install Foreman, or Masonry Foreman based on experience and skills. This role is a Supervisory position and may have have laborers reporting directly. 

 

General responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

 

Supervision of Crews

-ï‚· Play a lead role and be responsible for managing multiple crews and multiple job sites; supervising, leading, directing and coaching crews while at job site to complete projects within established guidelines and includes adherence and enforcement of all company policies and procedures; addressing crew member issues promptly, providing discipline when necessary 

-ï‚· Lead crew members to demonstrate safe and efficient practices and equipment use while ensuring high levels of productivity and customer service at all times 

-ï‚· Serve as first line communicator to field crew, communicating important information while supporting and advancing company values and standards 

-ï‚· Lead training and orientation process of new crew members; providing feedback on performance and ways to improve; supporting crew members in their advancement and recommending for promotion, when warranted 

 

Production

-ï‚· Receive work orders for the day ensuring no changes from the previous day, getting all information/directions/drawings/notes and details necessary; closely read, review and understand all details and ensure complete understanding 

-ï‚· Review daily personnel sheet; organize and gather crews; work closely with them to ensure production and adherence to work orders. 

-ï‚· Job site walk arounds and reviews daily; proactive and vigilant on customer issues and matters relating to safety and customer service. 

-ï‚· Follow all safety and work conduct rules and provide regular safety or other training, as necessary ï‚· Seasonal on call snow removal work 

 

Administration 

-ï‚· Update all work orders daily and provide all necessary details; submit completed and noted work orders; ensure clarity on time & materials work compared to proposal 

-ï‚· Be proactive in supervision and preparation and list any action items for the following day; check in with the 

Manager before 3 pm to ensure projects are on track and there is regular work to schedule 

- Submit crew members’ time cards to the Manager or designated official, by payroll deadline; attend any meetings as requested; stay informed on company information and communicate to crews; track vehicle and equipment damage 

 

Qualifications include: 

-ï‚· Knowledge of common plants; understanding of horticulture practices such as planting, pruning, mulching, watering, weeding, etc. 

-ï‚· Demonstrated skill in the use of basic landscaping gas and engine hand held equipment, commercial grade mowers and in operating a truck with trailer 

-ï‚· Ability to effectively manage personnel and provide leadership; and manage time and work within time schedules 

-ï‚· Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and written and read and comprehend all written items; spanish or bilingual skills preferred, but not required 

-ï‚· Effective decision making and problem solving skills; and strong customer and client focus 

-ï‚· 3 years of landscaping experience; experience in landscape installation; supervisor and project management experience preferred 

-ï‚· High School Diploma or GED; Valid Drivers’ License; DOT certification; CDL License preferred

*CREW MEMBER (NOW HIRING)

 

NCI is currently looking to fill positions for fulltime CREW MEMBER who will help to deliver great landscaping work for the customers. The LABORER is primarily responsible for performing a variety of work in the general maintenance and labor of landscape and groundswork. Work may vary depending on division worked, which may include maintenance, construction, installation, lawnwork, or masonry. 

 

General responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

-ï‚· Follow detailed task instructions as provided by the Project Manager or Foreman. 

-ï‚· Work in a clean, safe and orderly manner: mowing, edging, grading, weed removal, pruning, leaf removal, watering, etc. 

-ï‚· Load and unload equipment safely from trucks daily and drive to work sites, if qualified to drive. 

-ï‚· Operate and care for various equipment including: lawn mower, edger, sweeper, trimmer, rototiller, chainsaw, sprayers, hand tools, etc. 

-ï‚· Haul and dispose of landscape cuttings and debris. 

-ï‚· Cultivate planting areas; install or replace turf, trees, plants, shrubs, ground cover, annuals, bulbs as instructed by Project Manager Foreman or Foreman. 

-ï‚· Plan and assist with installment of fencing, paving, rock or wood borders, as instructed. 

-ï‚· Adhere to all safety guidelines and follow all safety and work conduct rules. 

-ï‚· Remain on call for 24 hours to conduct seasonal snow removal work. 

 

Qualifications include: 

-ï‚· Knowledge of turf management and maintenance practices to support the required tasks noted above; some knowledge of landscape installation preferred 

-ï‚· Ability to operate a variety of equipment and hand tools safely 

-ï‚· Ability to read and understand labels and other instructions; ability to write notes on work orders, as needed; ability to follow verbal and written directions and other instructions 

-ï‚· Establish and maintain cooperative and effective relationships with co-workers 

-ï‚· Ability to have a reliable form of transportation to get to work and communicate transportation needs 

-ï‚· Minimum 1 year of landscaping experience, preferred 

-ï‚· High School Diploma or GED, preferred but not required

NCI is currently looking to fill positions for fulltime MASON who will help to deliver great landscaping work for the customers. The MASON is primarily responsible for performing a variety of work in the general masonry field including work in stone, brick and block. 

 

General responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

· Follow detailed task instructions as provided by the Project Manager or Foreman 

· Project management for all related projects 

· Plan and install paving, rock or brick borders, as instructed 

· Construct walls, pillars, outdoor kitchens, re-point, and repair damaged walls 

· Work in a clean, safe and orderly manner and adhere to all safety guidelines and follow all safety and work conduct rules 

 

Qualifications include: 

· Knowledge of stone, brick, and block work required 

· Some knowledge of landscape installation, preferred 

· Ability to operate a variety of equipment and hand tools safely 

· Ability to read and understand labels and other instructions; ability to follow verbal and written directions and other instructions; ability to write notes on work orders, as needed 

· Establish and maintain cooperative and effective relationships with co-workers 

· Ability to have a reliable form of transportation to get to work, and communicate transportation needs 

· Minimim 5 years of masonry experience, preferrred 

· High School Diploma or GED, preferred but not required
