Besides designing,
installing and maintaining landscapes, we are involved in many other
things about which we thought you might like to know.
Sheppard Pratt Health System
Natural Concerns worked with the Head of Sheppard
Pratt to design a multi-sensory therapeutic garden outside of the
Eating Disorders Center. Built around a small patio where patients
could sit, relax and meditate, raised gardens were installed so that
the patients could grow their own vegetables and herbs. In addition,
large specimen trees, plants and boulders were carefully selected
and sited to take full advantage of their ability to be a part of
the treatment process.
The Odyssey School
Designed with the look of an old southern plantation,
this newly constructed building required careful plant selection
and placement to complement the architecture. Working with the Head
of School, Natural Concerns graded and planted the entrance to create
a welcoming front door, and selected native plantings that the students
could help install behind the school.
The House of Ruth
Natural Concerns first became involved with The
House of Ruth doing landscape maintenance. Finding that giving back
to the community in this way was therapeutic for the staff doing
the work, Natural Concerns teamed with the St. George’s Garden Club
to create a beautiful garden for the employees and residents to enjoy.
The Jemicy School
When Jemicy School began their plans for the new
High School in Towson, Natural Concerns was brought in as a consultant
for the selection of plants for the new campus. They
also designed and installed the plantings in front of the Lower and
Middle Schools to create a welcoming entryway.
The Lab School
Located in downtown Baltimore, The Lab School’s
front yard suffered from years of urban wear and tear. After
removing the cement hardscape, hauling away accumulated debris and
washing the sidewalks and street, Natural Concerns created a welcoming
greenspace entryway by installing bluestone, boulders, sod and native
perennials. |
